There’s no need to precisely place the optional speakers. The soundbar with built-in microphones does it all for you, intelligently measuring the position of each speaker, and optimizing sound to your room. The soundbar lets you enjoy Sound Field Optimization with or without optional speakers. Activate the simple calibration process during initial setup or from the home menu.
Immersive surround sound from our premium soundbar
The HT-A5000 has 5.1.2 channels and X-Balanced speaker units to minimize distortion while the up-firing speakers and beam tweeters fill the room to give an ultra-immersive listening experience. Built-in subwoofers provide an additional boost to low end frequencies. Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force PRO Front Surround create immersive sound from all around, while Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X® lend a more realistic, multi-dimensional sound to your content.

Thanks to Sony’s virtual surround technology, the soundbar can position sound in vertical space – so you can experience 3D audio without the need for in-ceiling speakers. As well as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, Vertical Surround Engine lends a more realistic, multi-dimensional sound to other formats too.

If you have a BRAVIA TV with a multi-position stand, you can change the position of the TV stand and fit the HT-A5000 discreetly beneath the TV for a clean look.

X-Balanced Speaker Unit
The up-firing speakers, built-in subwoofer and front speaker feature an X-Balanced Speaker Unit. The unique rectangular shape of these speakers maximizes the diaphragm area for more punchy bass. It also reduces driver excursion while maintaining sound pressure, resulting in less distortion and greater vocal clarity.

Two subwoofer choices (SA-SW3 and SA-SW5) and a set of rear speakers (SA-RS3S and SA-RS5) are optional equipment designed to help you enhance the immersion of your content. The wireless subwoofer and rear speaker accessories take out any guesswork of connecting, as they automatically pair to the HT-A5000 once they are powered on.
